On January 16, 2021, 41-year-old David Anthony Orr, a Hispanic and Caucasian male, spoke with his father for the last time from Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was last seen in the Harrah-Newalla area of Oklahoma. At the time of his disappearance, Orr was approximately 5'11" and weighed 220 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was known by several nicknames, including "D Law" and "D-Low Orr".
Details about the clothing he was wearing at the time he went missing are unknown. Orr has several distinct tattoos, including a cross necklace tattooed around his neck, the name "Eve" under his ear, and a black and gray sleeve on one arm.
The investigation into David Orr's disappearance uncovered a series of disturbing events. Authorities came to believe that Orr was murdered on the day he was last heard from, or the following day, inside a home in McLoud, Oklahoma, where he had been staying with a married couple, Jason and Elizabeth Cornett. The day after Orr's last contact with his family, surveillance footage captured Elizabeth Cornett using his food stamp card at a grocery store in Harrah. In the course of the investigation, law enforcement executed search warrants on the Cornetts' property. An informant in federal custody later told investigators that Orr had been killed in a bedroom of the house and his body was subsequently burned in a metal box in the backyard. During a second search of the residence in November 2021, investigators discovered blood in a bedroom, which DNA testing later confirmed to be David Orr's.
In March 2023, Jason and Elizabeth Cornett were arrested in connection with Orr's murder. Jason Cornett was charged with first-degree murder and desecration of a human corpse, while Elizabeth Cornett faced charges of accessory to first-degree murder and desecration of a human corpse. Another individual, Jason's nephew, was also charged as an accessory for allegedly helping to dispose of the body. However, in a surprising turn, the charges against the Cornetts were dropped in December of that year, pending further investigation. Tragically, just days after his release from jail, Jason Cornett was found dead in Midwest City; his death is currently under investigation.
