In the small, remote village of Chevak, Alaska, the disappearance of 35-year-old Dennis Adrian Slats in March 2021 has left a community searching for answers. Slats, along with 22-year-old James Tikiun, was last seen on March 7, 2021, at an old, abandoned school building in the village. The circumstances of their disappearance are deeply intertwined with a fire that completely destroyed the same building just a day later, on March 8th.
Following the fire, searches of the village were conducted, but there were no signs of the two men, nor any indication that they had left the community.
