Kim Lertjuntharangool, a 34-year-old Native American woman, went missing under troubling circumstances in the spring. On March 20, 2021, a day that began with a domestic dispute, Kim found herself in contact with the Greenwood Village Police Department. Earlier that day, her sister had been on the phone with her and overheard Kim arguing with a man before the call abruptly ended.
Following this incident, police provided her a ride and dropped her off at the Belleview Light Rail Station near East Union Avenue and Interstate 25 at approximately 2:40 p.m. Security cameras at the station captured images of Kim leaving the station and walking onto a footbridge that spans the interstate. This was the last time she was ever seen.
Following her disappearance, a concerning silence fell over Kim’s usually active life. Her phone was turned off, and there has been no activity on her bank accounts since she was last seen. For a person who maintained regular contact with her family, this lack of communication was highly uncharacteristic and alarming. It wasn't until April 12, more than three weeks after she was last seen, that her mother and brother officially reported her missing to the authorities. At the time of her disappearance, Kim was wearing a gray Nirvana hooded sweatshirt with a smiley face on it, blue jeans, and a black backpack. She is described as being five feet two inches tall, weighing around 105 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her distinguishing features include several tattoos: three roses on her left forearm, another on her right forearm, and Thai lettering on the back of her neck.
The investigation into Kim's whereabouts is being handled by the Greenwood Village Police Department. Kim is a registered member of the Pueblo of Laguna tribe, based in New Mexico. Her family, desperate for answers, has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that might lead to her safe return. The circumstances surrounding her case are unsettling, as there is no clear evidence of a struggle or what might have happened to her after she walked onto the footbridge.
