In the late spring of 2021, concern began to mount for 29-year-old Tabitha Queen, a mother of three residing in Bastrop, Louisiana. When family members were unable to reach her, they went to her home, where they made a startling discovery: Tabitha's three young children were alone. The oldest child, then ten years old, told them that their mother had gone to the store and had not come back. It was later determined that Tabitha was last definitively seen on May 10, 2021. She was recorded on surveillance video at the Save-U-More grocery store in Bastrop. After she left the store, she was never heard from again. The days following Tabitha's last known whereabouts brought more troubling developments. Her car, which had been missing, was found abandoned on West Pine Street in Morehouse Parish. Surveillance footage from the area showed an unidentified Black male parking the vehicle on the morning of May 10th and walking away. Tabitha's oldest daughter later recounted a disturbing series of events that preceded her mother's disappearance. She stated that her mother had been in an argument with a man to whom she had previously loaned her car. When the car was returned, there was a strange smell, and Tabitha discovered what appeared to be blood in the spare tire compartment. After she told the man he could no longer use her car, he allegedly threatened to kill her. It remains unclear if this incident is directly connected to her disappearance. Tabitha Yvette Queen is described as a Black female with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5'4" and weighing between 200 and 230 pounds. She has several distinct tattoos, including the word "Legend" on her chest, stars on one of her arms, a marijuana leaf on her left buttock, and another tattoo of masks with the words "Laugh Now, Cry Later". She also has a scar on her left arm and pierced ears. At the time she was last seen, her daughter described her as wearing a jacket with cartoon characters and pink pants. The Bastrop Police Department investigated her case and at one point identified a person of interest, but no suspects were ever named. A year after she vanished, law enforcement admitted they had exhausted all leads, and the case grew cold. The investigation into what happened to Tabitha Queen after she left the grocery store that day remains open, leaving her family with unanswered questions and a painful void where a mother should be.
