Shawtyeria Waites, a 20-year-old from Houston, Texas, was last seen on July 25, 2021, after celebrating her birthday with friends. She was dropped off at an apartment complex to meet a man, Jordan Potts. Her friends lost contact with her shortly after. Two days later, Waites was reported missing. Evidence later led investigators to believe she was killed that same night, and her remains were found in Brookshire on August 27, 2021.
