Linda Maggie Reategui, a 32-year-old woman originally from Peru, was last seen on November 26, 2000, at her apartment located in northwest Houston, Texas. On the following day, neighbors reported hearing a domestic disturbance, prompting concern for her safety. When police arrived, Linda was already missing. Disturbingly, a day later, witnesses saw two unidentified women arrive at her apartment in a white SUV, cleaning the space and removing items.
These women were not part of the usual cleaning crew, and they have never been identified.
Reategui had been living with her boyfriend, Juan Rafael Neciosup, who later moved out of the apartment following her disappearance. Neciosup told police that Reategui had been planning to return to Peru, having even booked a flight. However, subsequent investigations revealed that she never boarded the plane, and her family in Peru confirmed she never arrived. Neciosup himself disappeared about a year after her last sighting, raising further suspicion about his involvement.
Prior to her disappearance, Reategui had been in the middle of a legal battle for custody of her daughter, who had been taken to the United States by the girl’s father without Reategui’s knowledge. Reategui relocated to Houston to fight for custody, a battle that was still unresolved when she vanished. The father of her daughter is considered a person of interest in the case, but no formal charges have been filed, and the case remains unsolved.
