John Thomas Davis III, a 48-year-old man, went missing on October 24, 2021, in Covelo, California. He was camping with his son near the 8-Mile Bridge along Highway 162 by the Eel River when a severe rainstorm caused the river to flood. Davis chose to stay at the campsite to move their tent, while his son sought safety in their car, with the plan to reunite later. However, Davis never made it back to the car.
