Annie Laurie Hearin, a 73-year-old socialite from Jackson, Mississippi, was abducted from her home on July 26, 1988. She was married to Robert Hearin, a prominent businessman involved with the company School Pictures, which had sued several franchise owners in the 1980s. Annie had hosted a bridge party earlier that day, and after her guests and housekeeper had left, she disappeared. Her husband returned home around 4:30 p.m. to find her missing, but her car was still in the driveway.
