Billy Joe Russell, aged 48, was last heard from on August 20, 2021, after moving from Falkville, Alabama to New Orleans, Louisiana a month earlier. He was homeless by choice and lived at an abandoned auto shop where he received mail. In his last communication with his family, Russell mentioned that he no longer resided at the shop but showed no signs of distress.
