James Norman Batten, an 83-year-old Army veteran, was last seen on December 15, 2021, at his home on Madison Street in Selma, North Carolina. His family reported him missing nearly three months later, on March 6, 2022, after they were unable to contact him. Batten, who went by the nicknames "Mose" and "Jimmy," was known for being introverted and lived alone without a wife or children.
