Jeremiah Steven Erb, 40, was last seen on December 26, 2021, in the Morgantown, West Virginia area. A Morgantown Police Officer had contact with him on that date, which is the last known time anyone has reported seeing or hearing from him. The Westover Police Department is handling the investigation into his disappearance. There was a significant delay in reporting him missing, as the official report was not filed by his mother until October 3, 2022, nearly ten months after he was last seen.
This delay has presented challenges to the investigation.
At the time he went missing, Erb was known to be residing in Westover, WV. His mother reported to police that the last time she had spoken with him, he was at Jacob's Ladder, a substance abuse facility. Officials at the facility stated that the last time they had seen him was around Christmas of 2021. It is believed that Erb may have been experiencing homelessness at the time of his disappearance. Police were also informed that on previous occasions when he had left the treatment facility, he had traveled to Ohio and Wheeling, and authorities in those areas were notified of his disappearance.
Jeremiah Erb is described as a white male, standing at 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 180 to 200 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
