In the spring, a 22-year-old Louisiana State University-Shreveport student named Savannah Hale vanished, leaving her family with pressing questions and a painful void. At the time of her disappearance, she was a computer science major known for her artistic and creative nature. Friends and family described her as friendly and easy-going. She was residing with her boyfriend at his grandmother's home in Shreveport, Louisiana. The evening before she went missing, Savannah and her boyfriend visited Fatty Arbuckle's, a downtown Shreveport bar. They returned to the residence later that night. However, in the early morning hours, Savannah left the house alone in her gray 2012 Kia Forte. The hours that followed her departure from the residence are pieced together from electronic data and surveillance footage. It appears Savannah drove back and forth between the house and downtown Shreveport multiple times. At approximately 6:06 a.m., she used her credit card at a Chevron gas station on North Market Street. Shortly after, at 6:08 a.m., she placed a call to her sister, leaving a voicemail that reportedly sounded normal and cheerful. After this call, her phone was turned off. The last confirmed sighting of Savannah was at 7:03 a.m., when surveillance cameras recorded her leaving the Louisiana Tower Parking Garage on Travis Street, alone in her car. When her sister tried to return her call around 8:00 a.m., there was no answer. Later that morning, her sister went to the house where Savannah had been staying and found her boyfriend asleep; he was unaware that Savannah had left. Savannah was officially reported missing that afternoon. In the wake of her disappearance, search efforts were launched by law enforcement and volunteer groups, including the United Cajun Navy. These searches involved combing through local waterways for any sign of her or her vehicle, but unfortunately, these efforts did not lead to a discovery. Savannah is described as a Caucasian female, standing 5'8" tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. She has blue eyes and, at the time she went missing, her hair was dyed silver. Distinctive features include a birthmark on the back of her neck, a butterfly tattoo on her upper left arm, and a pyramid tattoo on her inner left ankle. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black leggings, and black tennis shoes. Her car, a gray 2012 Kia Forte with Louisiana license plate number 607DNH, also remains missing. The case of Savannah Hale's disappearance is an ongoing investigation, a perplexing puzzle with a timeline of her last known movements but no clear answers as to her ultimate fate.
