Savannah Hale, a 22-year-old Louisiana State University-Shreveport student, vanished in the early morning hours of May 4, 2022. The night before, on May 3rd, she and her boyfriend visited Fatty Arbuckle's, a bar located in downtown Shreveport. After leaving the establishment, they returned to the residence of her boyfriend's grandparents, where they were staying at the time. The home was approximately five and a half miles from the bar.
At some point during the night, Savannah left the house alone in her gray 2012 Kia Forte. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black leggings, and black sneakers.
The hours leading up to her disappearance were marked by a series of activities captured by electronic tracking and surveillance footage. Records indicate that she drove back and forth between the house and downtown Shreveport multiple times. At 6:06 a.m., she used her credit card to make a purchase at a Chevron gas station on North Market Street. Just two minutes later, at 6:08 a.m., she placed a call to her sister, leaving a voicemail in which she sounded normal and not in distress. The last confirmed sighting of Savannah was at 7:03 a.m. as she was seen alone in her vehicle, exiting the Louisiana Tower Parking Garage on Travis Street. After this point, her phone was turned off and has not been turned back on.
Concern grew later that morning when Savannah's sister attempted to return her call at 8:03 a.m. but was unable to reach her. After visiting Savannah's apartment and speaking with her boyfriend, who was unaware of her whereabouts, her sister reported her missing that afternoon. Despite search efforts by law enforcement and volunteer groups, including the United Cajun Navy who searched surrounding bodies of water, neither Savannah nor her car have been found.
