On September 11, 2009, Brett Mitchell, a 31-year-old crewmember aboard the fishing vessel BELLA ROSE, was reported missing. The vessel, which hailed from the historic fishing port of New Bedford, Massachusetts, was approximately 100 nautical miles east of Cape Cod when Mitchell was last seen.
