On the evening of April 5, 2026, 34-year-old Brett Parrett was spending time with friends at the Wild Eagle Bar & Grill in Stephenson, Michigan. Later in the evening, friends gave him a ride to a woman's house near the Camp Shakey Saloon. About an hour later, Parrett sent text messages to the same friends asking for a ride back.
