On May 10, 1980 four men from Grand Forks, North Dakota departed in a boat from the Anama Bay Tourist Camp (Manitoba) for a fishing trip. At approximately 2:45 p.m. on this date an overturned boat was spotted in the Sturgeon Bay area of Lake Winnipeg. The bodies of three of the four men were found. The cause of death for all three of these men was death due to cold exposure (in water) and drowning. The body of William Winters was never recovered. He is presumed dead due to drowning.
