In October 1983, Edna Smith was last seen at a camp with two other persons on East Trout Lake, located approximately 120 kilometres north of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. A search operation successfully located the bodies of her two companions, but she herself remained unaccounted for. The boat that had been used by the three individuals was discovered capsized in the lake. It is suspected that all three individuals drowned.
