On the weekend of August 18, 1972, Dennis Simpson and a friend went fishing on McMillian Lake in Manitoba. When they did not return by the 22nd, many people contacted the police. Through investigation, it was later determined that the two men were last seen by a man on the shore on Sunday the 20th, and their camp was still set up.
