On May 15, 2025, the Canadian Coast Guard Search and Rescue team found a sailboat belonging to Amber Nitchman washed up on the shore near 5362 Bayshore Road in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Amber was a novice sailor who may have fallen overboard while operating the vessel.
