In the late summer of 2017, in the small Quebec municipality of Saint-Sulpice, 28-year-old Jessica Malouf-Pelletier was a young mother to a 16-month-old son. Known to be a regular user of social media, her online presence abruptly ceased after her last post in August of that year. The following month, in September 2017, she was seen for what is believed to be the last time in the Lanaudière region town where she resided with her parents.
