On a summer day in Quebec, a mother of three, Marie Josée Boisjoli, informed her family that she was heading out for an appointment. At 40 years of age, she left her home in Laval on August 13, 1995, without providing any further details about her plans. She was last observed wearing blue jeans, a white sweater, and white 'Reebok' shoes with Velcro straps. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as being 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 128 pounds, with green eyes and curly, shoulder-length blonde hair. Distinguishing marks included two significant scars on her stomach and a tattoo of a mouse holding a flower on her right buttock. The day after Marie Josée Boisjoli was last seen, a troubling discovery was made. Her vehicle, along with her personal effects, were found abandoned at the family's cottage. The cottage was located in the Lac Gélinas area of Mont-Tremblant, a considerable distance from her home in Laval. This discovery shifted the focus of the search to the Mont-Tremblant region, a scenic area known for its lakes and dense forests. The finding of her car and belongings suggested that she had reached the cottage, but what happened after that remained a mystery. The discovery of Marie Josée's vehicle and personal items prompted an extensive search of the area surrounding the family cottage. Authorities, including the Sûreté du Québec, launched a comprehensive operation involving helicopter support, police officers on the ground, and specialized K9 units. Divers were also brought in to search the nearby waters, leaving no stone unturned in the effort to find her. Despite these exhaustive efforts, no trace of Marie Josée Boisjoli was found. The case eventually went cold, leaving her family with unanswered questions. The investigation remains open, and authorities continue to ask for anyone with information regarding her disappearance to come forward. The overview of the case is one of a sudden and unexplained disappearance that, despite immediate and thorough investigation, has left a family searching for answers for decades.
