On August 13, 1967, a fourteen-year-old girl named Sylvia Linda Klayh was with her father and two siblings at their family's cottage on Brereton Lake in Manitoba. Following a verbal disagreement with her father that morning, Sylvia left the cottage around 11:00 a.m. without indicating where she was going.
