On November 17, 2019, Marshal Iwaasa was last seen by his family in Lethbridge, Alberta. During this time, Marshal had told his family that he was returning to Calgary, Alberta. On November 23, his burnt vehicle was recovered at the end of Phelix Creek Forest Service Road, in a remote area near the Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park in British Columbia.
