On May 18, 1974, at approximately 8:15 hours, Douglas Henderson and Alexander Korecki were canoeing in a 14 foot fiberglass canoe close to the shore in the area of Depot Harbor, Big Sound, in Georgian Bay. The canoe capsized approximately 500 feet away from the campsite.
