On September 13, 1975, William Garson, his father, his brother and a friend set out for a hunt in Moose Lake, Manitoba. On September 14, other hunters found gas cans and a thermos with the Garson name on it. These hunters reported their findings to the police. A search was initiated and police found a boat sitting upright on the bottom of the lake. The depth of the lake around the boat was only 8 to 10 feet.
