In the early morning hours of November 23, 2016, Kevin Dilk, a 50-year-old French teacher, left his home in the St. Boniface area of Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was not unusual for him to be up early, as he often walked to work at Collège Béliveau, the school where he taught.
