In the late winter of 2008, a family's life was irrevocably altered by the disappearance of 22-year-old Peter Cory Butler. A young Indigenous man with brown eyes and black hair, Peter was last seen in downtown Whitecourt, Alberta, on March 15, 2008. Standing at a noticeable height of 6 feet 2 inches and weighing around 190 pounds, he was a recognizable figure. A scar on the left side of his head was another distinguishing feature.
