John W. Burton and two passengers (Clifford Dowson and Edward Flett) were flying from Oxford House to Island Lake in Manitoba. John Burton was the pilot of the Cessna 185 and at approximately 11:00 a.m. he made a routine radio call stating that the plane would be landing at Garden Hill in approximately 15 minutes. The plane never arrived at its destination. The wreckage and all three souls on board were never located.
