In the spring of 2004, a family's life was forever changed by the disappearance of Randy Boudreau. A 31-year-old Indigenous man from Campbellton, New Brunswick, Randy was reported missing by his family on April 12, 2004. He was last seen around that time, with reports indicating he was at his residence in Campbellton and also in the Upsalquitch area, specifically near the NB Trail. At the time he vanished, he was described as being five feet seven inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds, with a slim build. He had short black hair, brown eyes, and several distinct scars on his right arm. When he was last seen, he was believed to be wearing blue or black jeans and a hooded sweater. The initial investigation into Randy Boudreau's disappearance was handled by the District 9 RCMP in Campbellton. As the years passed with no sign of Randy, the case grew cold. In March of 2011, hoping to bring a fresh perspective to the investigation, the file was transferred to the major crime unit in Bathurst. Investigators began the task of re-interviewing individuals who had been spoken to during the original inquiry, seeking any small detail that might have been overlooked. Despite these efforts and the passage of many years, few details about the circumstances of his disappearance have been made public, and his case remains an active missing person investigation. A cash reward of up to $2,000 has been offered for information that leads to his whereabouts. The search for answers continues for Randy Boudreau's family and community. His case is one of New Brunswick's long-standing cold cases, a painful mystery that has endured for over two decades. The RCMP have periodically sought the public's assistance, hoping that someone, somewhere, holds the key to resolving this painful uncertainty. The overview of the case is that a man vanished without a trace, leaving behind a family with unanswered questions. The investigation remains open, a testament to the hope that one day, information will surface to explain what happened to Randy Boudreau in the Upsalquitch area so many years ago.
