On a summer day in July of 2004, 40-year-old Jacqueline Mary Bob, known to her loved ones as "Jackie," was in the remote Brittany Triangle of the Nemiah Valley in British Columbia, a region near Alexis Creek. She was with friends, engaged in the seasonal activity of mushroom picking. This outing on July 6th would be the last time she was seen. The following day, after she failed to return, Jacqueline was reported as a missing person. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as being 5'3" tall and weighing approximately 123 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was reportedly wearing a red baseball cap and a red jacket with a liner. The initial response to Jacqueline's disappearance was a comprehensive and large-scale search effort. The remote and rugged terrain of the Nemiah Valley presented significant challenges. The search involved RCMP helicopters conducting aerial sweeps, while teams on the ground, including some on horseback, scoured the vast wilderness. Despite these extensive efforts that continued for a week, no trace of Jacqueline was ever found. The official search may have been called off, but for her community and the Tsilhqot'in National Government, the search never truly ended, with members vowing to continue looking.
