In the late summer of 1994, a family in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, was altered by the sudden absence of a son and brother. Twenty-seven-year-old Kenneth Gilbert Joseph Blais, known to his loved ones as Ken, was last seen on September 14, 1994. On that day, following a disagreement with his mother at their Levesque Street home, Ken announced his intention to go and meet his father. It was believed by his family that he was heading to the Ottawa area, a detail that initially shaped their understanding of his whereabouts. However, Ken never arrived at his father's location, and as days turned into weeks, the unsettling reality that he was missing began to set in. At the time of his disappearance, Ken was described as a Caucasian male, standing at approximately 5'7" and weighing around 130 pounds, with a thin build. He had dark brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, and typically wore a beard and mustache. A distinctive feature was a handmade tattoo of a cross on his left bicep. When he was last seen, it is believed he was wearing either a black or white leather jacket, a black t-shirt, and jeans, paired with "Adidas" running shoes. He was also thought to be carrying a "Montreal Canadiens" hockey bag. The circumstances surrounding Kenneth Blais's disappearance remain shrouded in uncertainty. He is one of four men who vanished from the North Bay and Sturgeon Falls area within a period of just over 100 days in the summer of 1994, a fact that has led to public and media speculation over the years. Despite the passage of time, his case continues to be an open investigation, with law enforcement agencies and his family still seeking answers. The official investigation, handled by the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police, has not yet yielded the information needed to resolve the case and bring closure to his family.
