Though he lived with mental health challenges, he was known for his gentle nature and was considered to have the innocent mind of a child, having never harmed anyone. That day, before heading into the forest, Oswald paid a visit to his sister at her nearby home. After a short while, his sister encouraged him to head back to their parents' house to ease their mother's worries. Oswald departed with the intention of returning home, but he was never seen again. His disappearance was completely out of character, leaving his family and community in a state of profound uncertainty and distress. The familiar woods he knew so well seemed to have swallowed him without a trace, and the routine task of chopping wood became the prelude to a lasting mystery.
