On a spring day, April 26, 2014, in Olympia, Washington, 92-year-old Bohan Lee was out with his family. They were engaged in the seasonal tradition of harvesting fern heads in a wooded area near the Nisqually Indian Reservation, specifically in the vicinity of Old Pacific Highway SE and Reservation Road SE.
