In the spring of 2026, a sense of concern rippled through a Washington D.C. community when 39-year-old Mercy Idorenyin Ekanem was reported missing. She was last seen on Monday, April 6, 2026, in the 700 block of 7th Street SW. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a dark blue gown, beige Crocs sandals with gray socks.
