Walter Wilson Akers, 45, was last seen on August 19, 2020, in Macon, Georgia. Akers, an amputee who uses a wheelchair, had no permanent residence and was known to frequent homeless shelters and the downtown area of Macon. His family, who lives out of state, had not heard from him since that date, raising concerns as he suffers from mental health issues. Despite these concerns, authorities have indicated that they do not believe Akers was in immediate danger at the time of his disappearance.
