Cheretha Morrison, a 37-year-old mother, vanished after a routine morning of dropping her daughter off at school in Chicago, Illinois. She was last seen driving her car in the 6900 block of South Throop Street. Tragically, she never returned to pick up her daughter from school that afternoon. At the time of her disappearance, Cheretha was pregnant.
Family members reported that she had been in an argument on the phone the day before she went missing, and friends described her as being in a 'toxic' relationship. Her disappearance is considered to be under suspicious circumstances, and authorities do not believe she left of her own accord.
A few days following her disappearance, Cheretha's silver Porsche Cayenne was discovered in a tow zone approximately 20 miles from where she was last seen, in the 7400 block of North Winchester Avenue. The location of the vehicle was puzzling to her family as it was on the opposite side of the city from her South Side home. Adding to the mystery, a significant amount of cash was found on the passenger seat of the abandoned car, yet there was no trace of Cheretha. Police later learned that she had received parking tickets at that same location in the past, suggesting she may have been visiting someone she knew in the area. Her car was recovered by law enforcement for further investigation.
Years have passed, and Cheretha Morrison's case remains unsolved, leaving her family with unanswered questions and a painful void. The Chicago Police Department's Special Victims Unit continues to investigate her disappearance. Described as being 4'11' and 140 pounds at the time she went missing, Cheretha has several distinct tattoos, including a large heart with the name 'Cheryl' and 'R.I.P.' on her upper left arm, the word 'Glorious' on her left forearm, a large red rose on her right upper arm, and the name 'Rita' on the right side of her neck. She also has a piercing on the lower right side of her lip.
