Jonathan Lyman, a 17-year-old white male, was last seen on July 5, 2025, in Defuniak Springs, Florida. He was visiting Walton County from South Florida at the time of his disappearance. Lyman was last seen at approximately 12:00 am wearing a t-shirt and shorts in the area of Highway 181. He has brown hair and brown eyes, is 5'7" tall, and weighs 147 pounds.
Authorities report that Lyman took a golf cart from his grandparents' home on County Highway 181 West. This golf cart was later found abandoned by a passerby in Covington County, Alabama, on Finill Road near Gio Hagen Road. It is believed that he may be traveling on foot in Covington County, Alabama. Law enforcement has indicated they do not know the direction he was traveling or what he was wearing that night.
The Walton County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the case and is asking for the public's assistance in locating Jonathan Lyman. They have been conducting extensive searches using drones, K9 units, and helicopters. Lyman's parents and the sheriff's office are pleading with the community for any information that could lead to his whereabouts.
