In the late summer of 2025, concern grew for a 16-year-old girl from Suffolk, Virginia, named Ashlyn Arnold. On September 4th, she was seen getting into a silver SUV in the 100 block of Hall Avenue and did not return to her residence. Ashlyn was described as a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing approximately five-foot-ten inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. A noticeable scar was present on her left arm. At the time of this initial report, authorities indicated they did not believe her to be in danger and noted that she was known to spend time in the Williamsburg area. Just over a month later, the community was once again alerted to Ashlyn's disappearance. On October 5, 2025, she was reported as having run away from her home in the 200 block of Republic Lane. This report was particularly troubling as she had just been located the day before after a previous instance of running away. The repeated nature of her leaving home caused renewed distress for those who knew her and the wider community. During this time, police again stated they did not believe she was in any immediate danger. The Suffolk Police Department sought the public's help in locating the teenager during both instances of her going missing. Information was released describing Ashlyn and the circumstances under which she was last seen, including the detail about the silver SUV from her September disappearance. The public was encouraged to contact the Suffolk Police or the Suffolk Crime Line with any information regarding her whereabouts. The case of Ashlyn Arnold is marked by the repeated pleas for public assistance in locating a young girl who had disappeared from her home on more than one occasion in a short period.
