Angel Mendez, a 15-year-old boy, was last seen in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota, on November 20, 2025. He was reported missing from Home on the Range, a nonprofit therapeutic residential facility for children aged 12-18. Another teenager, 17-year-old Zayne LaFountain, was also reported missing from the same facility on the same day. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has assigned case number 2069129 to Angel's disappearance.

Authorities have indicated that they are investigating the case as a runaway situation. The Golden Valley County Sheriff's Office stated that they believe the two boys might be moving between houses on the Spirit Lake Reservation. Tribal authorities were alerted to the possibility of the boys being on the reservation.

Subsequent to the initial report, Angel Mendez was briefly seen by his grandmother. On November 26, 2025, he appeared at her home in Fort Totten, North Dakota. She provided him with a drink and offered food before she took a nap. When she awoke, Angel was gone and has not been seen or heard from since. His family has not had any contact with him, and his grandmother noted that he is usually active on social media but has been silent.
