The search for William "Will" Sargent Judge began on a cool autumn day in 2017. The 36-year-old man, originally from Worcester, Massachusetts but residing in Baltimore, Maryland at the time, was on a camping trip with two others on Parramore Island in Accomack County, Virginia. The group had traveled to the island using two kayaks. William was last seen at their campsite around midnight on October 20, 2017. What started as a recreational outing soon turned into a desperate search when he could not be located and has not been heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male, standing 5'10" and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was believed to be wearing a light-colored shirt and camouflage-print pants. Following his disappearance, an extensive search was launched in an effort to find him. The United States Coast Guard scoured a vast area of 142 square miles over a period of thirty hours. Despite their exhaustive efforts, no trace of William was found. Both of the kayaks that the group had used to travel to the island were located, leaving no clear indication of what might have happened. The search by the Coast Guard was eventually suspended, a difficult decision that left friends and family with more questions than answers. The Accomack County Sheriff's Office has been the investigating agency for this case. William Sargent Judge attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, and his disappearance was a profound loss to his community. Although the official search was suspended, the case remains open. Without any new leads or evidence, the prevailing theory is that William may have tragically drowned. This case serves as a somber reminder of how quickly a recreational trip can turn into a tragedy. The lack of concrete evidence and the vastness of the search area have made it incredibly difficult for investigators to piece together the events of that night, leaving a lingering sense of uncertainty for all who knew him.
