Curtis Wayne Thomas, a 32-year-old man, has been missing since April 14, 2002, from Amarillo, Texas. He was last seen at approximately 2:30 a.m. leaving a bar located in the 7100 block of south Bell Street. Before leaving, Thomas had exchanged phone numbers with a woman at the bar and made plans to meet her at her home in twenty minutes. He was seen driving his silver Dodge Ram pickup truck eastbound on Glenoak Drive, heading towards Canyon Drive.
However, Thomas never made it to the woman's residence and has not been seen or heard from since.
Later that afternoon, his truck was discovered abandoned behind the Hallmark Construction building in the 8200 block of Canyon Drive, less than a mile from where he was last seen. The vehicle had minor damage, having apparently struck a travel trailer in a covered storage area. The doors of the truck were closed, and inside, on the seat, was a piece of paper with the telephone number of the woman he was supposed to meet. Thomas had previously been employed by Hallmark Construction, suggesting he was familiar with the location where his truck was found.
Foul play is suspected in Thomas's disappearance. He left behind all of his personal belongings, including necessary medication. At the time of his disappearance, he resided in the 8100 block of Prosper. His case is classified as an endangered missing person and remains unsolved.
