Suzie Felan Ruiz, a 36-year-old single mother of five, has been missing since the evening of December 16, 2006, from San Antonio, Texas. At the time of her disappearance, Ruiz was a respiratory therapist and resided in the 7400 block of Rimhurst. She was last seen at approximately 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Military and Commercial Streets, driving her 1999 forest green Volvo convertible which had a brown top and a Texas license plate number 908KJJ.
Ruiz had informed her family of her plans to purchase a laptop computer from a man before attending a party. Her family last had contact with her when they discussed Christmas lists earlier that day.
Contrary to what she told her family, authorities believe Ruiz went to a man's residence to illegally purchase Vicodin, a prescription pain medication. At around 9:00 p.m., she was on the phone with someone and they reportedly argued about her presence at the man's apartment. This was the last known communication from Ruiz. Her family describes her disappearance as entirely out of character and they suspect foul play was involved. They have expressed that they do not believe she is still alive and hope to one day find her remains to provide a proper burial.
A week following her disappearance, Ruiz's Volvo was discovered abandoned and unlocked in a field located off Interstate 35 in southern Bexar County. The vehicle was found concealed in a grove of trees behind an unoccupied house. The license plates had been taken off the car, and the keys were missing. There was no sign of Suzie Felan Ruiz at the scene. Reports indicate that the car had been completely wiped clean, though some sources state that blood was found inside the vehicle. The case of Suzie Felan Ruiz's disappearance remains unsolved.Last Seen: Dec 16, 2006
