Stephen Douglas Hamshire, a 36-year-old man from Silsbee, Texas, has been missing since March 24, 2007. He was last seen leaving his family's home to take one of his frequent walks around town. At the time of his disappearance, he may have been wearing a Walkman with headphones. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Hamshire is described as being 5'7" and weighing 190 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a birthmark with dark hair on his right wrist.
When last seen, he was wearing a dark blue "USA" t-shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes that had the "Longhorn" symbol on the back and sides. Hamshire requires prescription medication which he did not have with him, and it is possible he could have been confused or disoriented.
According to his family, Hamshire had a very structured daily routine and any deviation from his schedule would be cause for concern. They described him as being high-functioning for someone with his unspecified conditions. His interests included reading, watching movies, working with electronics, and listening to a wide variety of music. He and his parents had moved to Silsbee in 2005 from Austin, Texas.
In the search that followed his disappearance, tracking dogs were able to follow Hamshire's scent to Highway 327, near the Village Creek Bridge, but no further trace of him was found. His case remains unsolved. The Silsbee Police Department is the investigating agency.Last Seen: Mar 24, 2007
