On the last day of 1991, 30-year-old Sheila Sue Conner disappeared from Houston, Texas, under troubling circumstances. She was last seen at the residence of an older man with whom she was romantically involved. In the early morning hours of December 31st, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Conner made a phone call to a friend from the man's home on Echo Glen Lane in North Houston. During the call, she disclosed that she and the man had been in an argument.
That was the last time anyone ever heard from her.
Days after she was last heard from, Conner's car was discovered abandoned and stripped on Interstate 45 North near New Haven, Texas. The state of her vehicle, coupled with the abrupt end to her communications, raised suspicions of foul play. At the time of her disappearance, Conner was reportedly battling a drug addiction, which her son believes made her more vulnerable. Her son, who was only eight years old when his mother vanished, has since voiced his belief that she was murdered.
Despite the passage of decades, Sheila Sue Conner's case remains unsolved, and no arrests have ever been made in connection with her disappearance.
