Summary based on 4 sources
Krystal Nicole Cashew, a 22-year-old woman, was last seen in Houston, Texas on July 31, 2007, and has not been heard from since. Although there were several reported sightings of her in the local area following her disappearance, authorities now believe these were cases of mistaken identity involving a woman who resembled Cashew. It was considered uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning. Cashew, who was mentally handicapped, had a history of drug abuse and criminal activity.

A significant focus of the investigation has been on Krystal's common-law husband, Raven Ryon Lovings, who is considered a person of interest in her disappearance. Their relationship was reportedly abusive, and Cashew had expressed a desire to leave him. Her mother, Brenda Kimble, described the abuse as severe, stating that Lovings had hit her with a baseball bat and frequently threatened her life. Both Cashew and Lovings had histories of drug use. In a display of suspicious behavior, Lovings was seen tearing down his wife's missing person posters in January 2009, nearly two years after she vanished.

In June 2009, Raven Ryon Lovings was arrested and charged with the sexual assault of another woman that had occurred in January of that year. He was subsequently convicted of the lesser offense of sexual assault and sentenced to ten years in prison. When questioned about Krystal's whereabouts following his arrest, Lovings enigmatically stated that she is "alive' in his heart." Despite the suspicion surrounding him, Lovings has never been charged in connection with his wife's disappearance. Since she was last seen, Krystal Cashew has had no contact with law enforcement, and there has been no activity on her bank accounts. Her case remains unsolved.
