Just days before she was last seen, Faith had walked away from her home in Hitchcock, Texas. This occurred after her son had attempted to get her help through a psychiatric evaluation. Her journey led her to Sallisaw, Oklahoma. On August 7, 2004, at approximately 4:00 p.m., she was seen in the area of Chickasaw and Elm streets. Her behavior at a local convenience store was described as erratic, leading to her arrest on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. The arresting officer noted her slurred speech and dilated pupils. However, after she was booked, it was determined that she was not intoxicated.
