On August 8, 1977, seventeen-year-old Yvonne S. Reglar vanished from her job at a Sunoco gas station in Fairview Park, Ohio. That day was her first shift at the station located in the 18900 block of Lorain Road; she was filling in for employees on vacation. Yvonne had been working for the company for about a year and a half at a different location in North Olmsted. She was last seen by an employee at a gas station across the street at approximately 1:25 p.m. pumping gas for a customer. Just twenty minutes later, a vending machine operator arrived to find the station deserted. When another attendant arrived at 2:15 p.m. to relieve Yvonne, she was still nowhere to be found. Investigators found Yvonne's personal belongings left behind in the office, including her purse which contained her driver's license and a small amount of money. Her cigarettes and uneaten lunch were also there. The door to the office was unlocked, and the cash register, containing about $100, had not been touched. There were no signs of a struggle or any indication of what could have happened to the teenager. At the time of her disappearance, Yvonne was about to start her senior year at Olmsted High School where she was a good student. She was described as 5'10" and 135 pounds, with light brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt and cut-off blue denim shorts. Authorities quickly ruled out the theory that Yvonne had run away, as she had no history of such behavior and no apparent personal problems. The prevailing belief is that she was abducted while attending to a customer. The investigation into her disappearance has spanned decades, involving multiple law enforcement agencies. In 2016, police announced they had identified a person of interest in her case, a man with a history of similar offenses who was in custody on unrelated charges. However, no arrests have been made in connection with Yvonne's disappearance. The case remains an active and unsolved missing person investigation, leaving her family and community without answers for many years.
