In the late summer of 1981, a night of celebration took a dark and mysterious turn, leaving two families with decades of unanswered questions. On August 22, 21-year-old Joseph "Joe" Grasher attended a birthday party in the 1000 block of Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan, Kansas. He was with another man, Stephen "Stevie" Hammerle.
