Jaquarin Demarko Scott, an 18-year-old from Davenport, Iowa, was last seen on March 25, 2017. On that evening, at approximately 6:30 p.m., at least one witness saw Scott on the Centennial Bridge. He was observed throwing his backpack over the bridge, climbing the rail at midspan, and then jumping into the Mississippi River.
Following the incident, police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene and initiated a search and rescue operation.
They were able to recover Scott's backpack along with some of his personal belongings. However, despite their efforts, there was no sign of Scott, and his body was not recovered.
The Davenport Police Department is the investigating agency for this case. Jaquarin Demarko Scott is described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes. He was 5'9" and weighed approximately 150 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He has a tattoo of a heart on his forearm. It has been noted that Scott had a history of suicide attempts.
