Philip James Medlin, a 56-year-old man, went missing from Moscow, Idaho, on June 26, 2008. The day before his disappearance, he had dinner with a relative before going back to the Super 8 motel where he was residing. The last known contact with Medlin was a phone call he made to his ex-wife at 3:00 a.m. on the morning of June 26. He has not been seen or heard from since that call. His father reported him missing on June 29, 2008.
Authorities found that Medlin had left all of his personal belongings, including his car and medication, at the motel. Following his disappearance, there has been no activity on his financial accounts; he has not accessed his investments, cashed any paychecks, or paid any bills. Medlin had recently divorced on June 17, 2008, just days before he vanished.
Former Moscow Assistant Police Chief David Duke mentioned in 2008 that Medlin had an undisclosed medical condition and might have been in distress due to missed medication. Despite the passage of time, no solid leads have emerged to explain his whereabouts. Law enforcement has periodically re-examined the case, but it remains unsolved.
