In early February 2010, the community of Makawao on the island of Maui, Hawaii, became the setting for a story of a man who seemingly vanished. Winston Kalani Torres-kamai, a 29-year-old man of Hispanic and Pacific Islander descent, was last seen on either February 2nd or 3rd of that year. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as being 5'8' and weighing between 145 and 155 pounds. He had black hair, which was shaved at the time, and brown eyes, with a goatee.
